Anyone who was 'lucky' enough to experience the Midtown Drug and Alcohol Circus: Summer '05 will remember an unofficial IFS 'Gathering' that rivaled any official meeting. We traveled to a foreign IHOP, snuck in an 18 of bud light (...adolphus...) and after wards, played dozens of frustrating games of Winning 11 until I wanted to punch Fidel in the face much more than I usually do. Anyways, I know that this time, IFS: THE GATHERING: LOS ANGELES: APRIL '06 will prove to be just as much fun and maybe even more (depending if we can hook-up Winning 11 to the TVs at the Roosevelt).
I've talked to almost everyone regarding the logistics, so I'll be brief -
-2 nights in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (April 28th, 29th),
-A joint celebration of two Birthdays on Saturday night: Amanda Farrell's and Chris "You've Just been Winkleman'd" Baez Winkleman's
-Gathering on Saturday or Sunday Morning, at Roscoe's Fried Chicken and Waffles, don't worry they can flap a jack too
-Saturday Night/Sunday Morning: Baez gets too drunk, climbs to the roof to ponder life's big questions, then falls down a flight of stairs and E loses his job
So that's it. Two nights and one day of monking it in LA, MOD style. Of course, he won't be there - he'll be running 26 miles for the greater good - you know, getting the IFS name out dere, sometimes offense is the best Defense. Of course, things could have been COORDINATED a little better. Believe me, I know (and before you throw any insults around, remember that you're talking to the first Minister to earn dual honors of MOM and CB). P.S. Our May meeting will get us back on track- we'll have a solid, productive one full of voting, speeches and proposals. It will take place on May 20th and it will be referred to as IFS: THE RECONSTRUCTION.

What are we looking at here financially? May will be my last month in California for over a year and need to budget accordingly to make sure I can celebrate these last few weeks with everyone and anyone. The May 20th date would be perfect for my last meeting for a bit as that's the day my dad flies in to drive across the country with me to Pennsylvania for a year. IFS Hershey, PA: The attack of the Hershey's Chocolate Chip Pancake will then be in our sights.
For her birthday, Amanda will be renting out a couple of rooms at the Roosevelt (which we can stay in) and probably a table at club - so all you'd need to bring cash for is drinks and food. We should also plan to get something shiny for the monk, maybe another table (figure 200 / 14). The weekend on the whole shouldn't be that bad. About on par with a typical SB-meeting weekend.
i need to know if the meeting @ Rosco's (which sounds badass) is on saturday or sunday...i can make the sat. meeting but will most likely have to return to santa barbara later that day so as to fold jeans and also it is me lady's birthday on sunday...
I think we are officially calling it a "gathering," not a meeting. I wish I could be there, but I'll be busy having the worst day of my life. So stupid...
Yeah, it's a gathering, because it's short notice. But it's also a Minister's bday and also the bday of a GF of a Minister, so all of those without marathon's to run should go, and have a drink in the Mod's honor.
Yeah I would agree that Saturday morning is preferred for the Gathering and consumption of caked pan portion of the weekend. Me no likey drivey after boozing and gorging.
So we will be going out on Saturday night to celebrate. What is the plan for Friday night???

The L.A. event is a gathering, as in "IFS: The Gathering: Los Angeles." The May meeting in Santa Barbara is "IFS: The Reconstruction." To my understanding, Jordan's last meeting will be "The Reconstruction" in May. Is this right? I couldn't live with myself if I missed an official meeting.
I'm already embarrassed for when I collapse at mile 9.
i know nova and i would prefer to have breakfast on sunday morning. since this "gathering" (I don't know what jerkoff called it this) is last minute, many of us won't be able to get work off in time. nova and i have work till about 7 on sat, then we can cruise down, party, wake up, have chicken, waffles/cakes of pan, and multiple adolphi. ha. . . baumann's running a marathon. . . we should plant ourselves along the route and hand him ice cold cups of vodka. FOOOOOLED YOOOUUU!!!

Mandrew, this really isn't supposed to be a 'one-or-the-other' kind of situation. If you're able bodied, you go to both - that's what Ministers do, they do it every month. So DO it, MOM. Get gnar gnar, get dere. Also, I'll figure out the whole sat./sun. conflict when I get to SB tomorrow. And for Friday...80s night...Oh my god...
