Sch_arnold2_125x150_1 Thought the Minister of Auditory Pleasures and the Minister of Coordination and Rousing would be interested in this Arnold soundboard.  Or these other four.

Old_fashioned_football2 As Summer burns away this month, sports will once again occupy televisions nationwide, and no I'm not talking baseball playoffs, the Halos are seven games back and the A's are money-balling there way to an AL West championship. College football kicks off this weekend, and since UCSB hasn't had a division I football team since 1972, and we lost alumni like Mike Martz to Fresno St., hey we still can claim Brian Shaw, and Michael Young, UCSB graduates are left with no one to root for, and let me tell you, without a team your nobody.  My brother has compiled a top ten list of the Pac-10 teams, and their corresponding Anchorman personas, I suggest you peruse it, if not for a great refresher on one of the funniest movies of the decade.

P1030026Who wants it?

Hello lads. If you aren't aware I made a move to the city I swore to avoid. Los Angeles.  It's not all bad though. I've got a good load of friends nearby and a few on the way, not to mention a lady by my side. Now all I need is a job.
You may remember my bumper sticker, "Keep LA 100 miles away!" Well I figured to avoid vandalism to my vehicle I would need to remove the sticker. I opted instead to modify it.  Keep an eye out for this car when stuck in traffic on the 405. I'm right there with you.

If you're in the neighborhood, give me a call.  I'll be the ulta slick dude keeping it real along side B man at the  Golden Gopher  in downtown LA. Holla!

I mentioned this idea to a couple of people, and i want to get some feedback before we all pack our bags.  It was one year ago that we all gathered on the beach in white collard shirts and rolled up jeans for our first IFS photoshoot.  Since we will all be together in philly, i feel like this would be a great opportunity for another group photo.

Here's the plan:

Before we get dere, everyone go out and find the most patriotic piece of clothing you can find. (Curtis, i'm sure you're already prepared, and might have some goodies to spare.) While we're head to toe in the stars and bars, we will gather in front of the Liberty Bell for another IFS group photo.  sounds easy enough, right?

if it is too difficult to find something really sweet before your flights, i would imagine that there might be some gems for purchase in the philly airport. (any idea jordan??)

Fanny Packs might be sweet too.

Th_p8150195 It's been a wonderful year here on Bath Street, filled with memories of late night dance 360, lazy afternoons on the porch and not to mention the enriching life lessons of Christopher Miguel Baez Winkleman (can't wait to see ya ol buddy ol pal)...but we have decided to leave behind the blaring mariachi filled alley which I love so dearly and raise our kids in a "neighborhood watch" safe zone where the stealing of Xbox 360s and vandalizing of red Hondas is a distant nightmare...see you soon in Philli brothers and see you on the new plush leather couches Baumann

The_rebbe Hey Bros, sorry it took me a bit to get this flight info posted, but as some of you know I was in Vancouver watching competitive- Jewish high school girl's volleyball all last week, so I didn't have much computer access.

I arrive in Philly at 10:20 pm on Delta flight 1676

Jordan- The itinerary sounds great.  Thanks for putting in so much work to make this trip a success.  I can't wait to be in the city of brotherly love with a Yinghling  in my hand (no offense Adolphus... Adolphus) and a cheese steak between my teeth.

Dear Ministers,

My vacation has finally come to an end (fuck!) and I am back in California getting ready to hit the killer 7-5 job that I have waiting for me in SF.  Brazil was incredible and I considered extending my stay for three more weeks, (literally came down to the flip of a coin in the airport) but luckily this didnt happen as I would have missed out on the Exodus.

Again Brazil was very sweet, I dont think I can emphasize this enough, so much that in the future there NEEDS to be an IFS: BRAZIL.  There is a wealth of trouble and fun to be had in Brazil and as I think rousing put it earlier when I spoke with him, we would all be in hog heaven.  My recent trip to brazil included an unexpected itinerary including but not limited to: admiring great hinies, enjoying great food and drinks, Imgp0474being shot at, surfing, getting scammed in the amount of 1,500 dollars after temporarily blacking out at a strip club, extortion, getting harassed by homosexuals and hookers, befriending hookers, partying to the early morning with great people and with quality help, and taking in all Brazil has to offer for a very meager price.  There are a couple of things that I could have done without but in retrospect it added to the quality and reality of a trip in Brazil.  Nonetheless the trip was great and I think we should all think about Brazil for a future meeting location as it is cheap (once you get there) and hella-fun.

I guess more important than the trip is that since being back, the trip has helped me to realize some things about us and our organization.  For example the irreplaceable perks that we are fortunate to have access to like 'Snakes on a Plane', Phili aka City of Brotherly Love (very coincidental), Adolphus, and watching eco-crusader Al Gore's movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' and later driving less than two blocks to go to the local pool.  Since I got off the plane in LAX I've been smelling Roscoes and IHOP, and imagining great feasts of Adolphi with butter smothered flapjacks drenched in syrup.  At the heart of all this is our organization; IFS maintaining flapjack traditions through our activities, meetings, and posts on the website (I know that I too need to post more often).  I thought I would point this out becuase IFS is not just a way to stay in contact but also a way to be who we are as Americans.  This is just another way I have begun to see our society and what we stand for since being away.  On a much lighter note, here's my flight info.  Time was allready short so I had to get a flight out of san diego to avoid paying $200 more.  Whammy!

Arrive Thursday morning 5:18am

Leave MONDAY morning 7:30am

Anybody else get shafted on monday morning?  Its great to be back and I look forward to seeing you guys in Phili.

Img_0117  Yes, I'm finally able to post again. I couldn't log in my typepad account because i forgot my username, i mean, i didn't forget what the name was just the crazy way i used to spell it.. Anyways, Jordan my brother thank you very much for everything, we'll have a schnitzel load of fun thanks to you! Viva IFS PA!!! I'm landing in Phillie Jam on the 31th at around 5:30 pm and on tuesday the 5th, at 10am on the schnitzel. I'll catch up with my ex, christie, at some stage. Spray Jam! She's there, and she just call me and inquired about spray jamming. Christie may pick me up at the airport on thursday. Spray Jam! All in all I'm really looking foward for this fantastic event and very glad to see that everyone is taking IFS so seriously and flying all the way across the country to LIVE AND TO DIE BY THE CAKE OF PAN!! I'd like to ask all of you to light up a candle and pray to the god of illegal immigrants, asking to protect your fellow international minister from the evil forces of deportation. If anything happens, I want to see IFS BRAZIL happening. Cheers my brothers, keep on spray jamming and have a great flap jack!!

Mr Barbieri

Anthony20kinggenos Before I talk about tentative plans for IFS: Exodus, I just want all of you to know how excited I am about having all of you here and wanted you all to know that this is your trip.  I grew up here, so what I have planned is just my best guess to what you guys might want to do and see, but if I left something out, we can for sure do whatever it is you want to do.  With that being said, this is what I've got for you monks so far.  I will be counting pills from 9-5 at my job on Wednesday, August 30th and plan to board the good old Amtrak that evening to arrive in the Illadelph by the time our fellow Rabbi arrives.  Is anyone else arriving Wednesday night besides Strauss?  On Wednesday night Strauss and I and whoever else arrives that day will be staying with one of the two best friends I have that live in the city.  Early Thursday, August 31st is when many of you will arrive.  As I posted before, what you will need to do from the airport after you retrieve your luggage is board the Regional Rail SEPTA train toward Central Philadelphia.  It should be one of the R1 trains and they run roughly every half hour, so you won't be waiting for too long.  The cost for the train into 30th St. Station is about $5.50.  I will meet the crew thats coming in early Thursday morning at 30th St. Station.  For those that are arriving later, call me when you arrive at 30th St. Station and we will start making our way back to our hotel.  The later arrivers will have to hop on the subway.  If you walk into the main area of 30th Street Station, you will see an area that has an Auntie Annes Pretzel stand.  Walk past the pretzel stand to the exit outside and if you exit those doors you will see a walkway that crosses over a couple of streets and leads to the stairs going down to the subway.  You will be boarding the Blue subway line and you want to travel east to 2nd Street.  There are machines that dispense tokens for the subway that you will see by the entrances once you are underground.  Each ride on the subway will only require one token.  Get off at 2nd Street and call me again and we will either meet you at the corner of 2nd and Market St. (where you will be when you get off the subway), or I can give you easy directions to the hotel.  This whole thing may sound complicated, but it really isn't.  From 30th Street Station if you can't find where the subway station is, just ask one of the 100,000 cops that will be visible in the train station to point you in the right direction.  If you want to avoid all of this subway riding and hop in a cab, you could do that as well, but the subway route will save you some dough.  If you decide to hop in a cab, this is where we will be staying for Thursday and Friday nights:

Hyatt_1

The Hyatt Regency Hotel at Penn's Landing

201 South Columbus Blvd.  Tel:  215-928-1234.

So if you hop in a cab, just give them that address and they will get you right to the hotel.   I used Priceline.com to get us a 4 star hotel in Philly for 2 nights and we lucked out and got ourselves 3 rooms for 2 nights at the Hyatt for 85 bucks a night.  Including tax this comes out to $600.00 total for all the rooms for both nights.  Divide that by 12 or 13 or 14 or 15, depending on how many monks make the trip, and you should be bringing $50.00 or less for the rooms.  I stuck my neck out and put all of this in my name on my credit card, so let's keep additional charges off the bill.  So, we should have between 4 and 5 people per room, which should be more than comfortable for all.  Thursday we will be walking all over the city so bring stuff in case it should rain and all of that fun stuff.  I don't know what you all want to see on Thursday..  I know where the shopping district is for you Blue Beetle employees, we can check out the Liberty Bell, walk by the Art Museum (the steps that Rocky runs up), Rittenhouse Park (a nice little park where a lot of times they have bands and other things and there are a lot of outside cafes there and that type of thing), South Street (for delicious Pat's or Geno's steaks), etc...  So, what would everyone like to do/see?  Friday we will shake off the hangovers of the night before and see what we didn't see on Thursday and hit up some bars before we head over to Citizen's Bank Park for the Phillies game.  Bring a red shirt if ya got em to support the home squad.  I will take care of the tickets so you don't have to factor that into your travel funds as you all paid for airfare, the least I can do is pick up your tickets to the ball game.  Saturday morning we will check out of the Hyatt, head back to 30th St. Station and board an Amtrak on our way towards Hershey, PA.  We will get off at the Elizabethtown, PA stop which is about 10 minutes from my house.  My parents will meet us there and my car will be there from where I left it on Wednesday to make sure we all have rides into Hershey.  The cost of the Amtrak train to my house is $20.00 and takes about an hour and a half.  This is what I was thinking for Saturday, but let me know if you would like to do something else.  My dad was set to barbecue for all of us Saturday and there will be plenty of Yuengling Lager for all as we gear up for the first day of college football.  I was thinking we'd get back here, maybe grab a nap, and get up and start boozing.  Penn State plays their first game of the season at 3:30.... Saturday evening, my parents will be getting a hotel room to make more sleeping room for all of you guys.  We can either just kick it at my house for the night and I can invite my friends from here over to party, or we can try and figure out rides to go to one of our local watering holes.  Either Saturday or Sunday, whenever it happens, I will show you around town.  We can go by the Hershey's and Reese's plants and we will go to Chocolateworld to purchase anything you might want to take back with you.  My dad gets a discount at Chocolate World for being a Hershey Foods Retiree, so I'll take his card and can help out whoever is purchasing delicious milk chocolate and other assorted items.  They have a ride at Chocolate World explaining how chocolate is made and a 3D movie.  The ride is free, the movie is about $8.00 so let me know if you are interested in either.  From there I was thinking we would go into Harrisburg (the capital of PA) and walk around by the Susquehanna River at a place called City Island.  We can walk the bridge from there and head into downtown Harrisburg for lunch/dinner depending on when we get there and more tasty beverages.  My dad and I will then figure out how we are gonna get everyone to the airport and we will be driving you to catch your returning flights.  So, besides your airfare that is paid for, all you will need to bring is $50.00 for the rooms in Philly, $20.00 for the train back to Hershey,  and your food/booze money.  Also bring some shorts to swim in as I have a hottub at my house.  Saturday afternoon we will barbecue here and probably end up getting a keg so you won't need any money for that and my dad has also offered to make us his delicious homemade flapjacks on Saturday morning if you all desire.  We can get many Adolphi and have a little meeting at my house with some delicious homemade flapjacks, bacon, sausage, toast, ham, and whatever the hell else you all want for breakfast.  If you want to try and hit up an IHOP instead of this idea, let me know, like I said previously, this trip is your trip..  Monday you all will be going bye bye and I will once again be depressed that I'm not living within the vicinity of all my closest friends. That's all I got, Whatchu got?  Comment at will

I see a lot of similarities between this video and the highly anticipated 'GET YOUR ASS TO MARS' mega mix video.  If the pictures you have, Curtis, can be edited like how they are in this video, it creates endless possibilities.

regarding the meeting following IFS: THE EXODUS, (especially if it is becomming a seasonal occourence, as has been previously suggested), i ask that we keep in mind that IFS was created in November 2004, thereby requiring, nay, demanding a 2 year anniversary meeting in the month of november.  Img_1359orig

this comemerative meeting (the breakfast) should probably be as traditional as possible (in SB IHOP, Dottie, etc.). it should pay homage to the one day that has delivered countless more days of joy.

so, get those wheels turning, and we should discuss activities for IFS: THE ANNIVERSARY, PART DEUX during IFS: THE EXODUS's breakfast. (Where is breakfast going to be, by the way??)

It was discussed this morning that perhaps the meeting following THE ANNIVERSARY, PART DEUX could be a new years meeting... IFS: A NEW BEGINNING, anyone??  as we have recently learned, if a great idea is proposed early, it will happen.  it's never too early to start planning.

see y'all in philladelphia, pa.      its happening.

10 points to the first person to figure out what's on the TV.

Ministers and Rabbi,

Cheesesteak Hanks

With slightly under two weeks til Exodus, it all seems to be falling into place.  With ten of us already ticketholders and two Ministers (the dynamic duo of Fidel and Baez...jesus) with tickets in the works - it's like, wow dad, that's a lot of monks in Philadelphia.  So now with the initial hurtle behind us (but not for you Fidel and Baez), we now need to do all that we can to help our beloved East Coast Minister plan our trip.  First and foremost, we all need to post our flight schedules TODAY...as Jordan's comment reads - "I need a final count ASAP if we want to see a ball game."  So comment on this post or create a post of your own - either way, Jordan needs your flight schedule today.

Take care of this now...or else...

My Flightplan (and Scott's too):

Arrive in PHL - 5:35AM on Aug. 31st / Depart from PHL - 4:50PM on Sept. 4th

Anyone remember that show?  Donkeylips was one of the sweeter characters, so it is good to see he's found work since. We run, we jump, we swim, we play We row and go on trips

So there is a site, YTMND, the title is based on the title-line from the best film of the millenium: Finding Forrester.  The site consists of user-submitted sounds looped over a unique/funny tiled background - simple, but limitless in its combinations of hilarity.

Here are some of the current highlights:

Alright I've figured it out.  Something happened to several of the ministers in February and March. Many have not posted since then, and those were our highest posting months...Now I know that posts don't put the P in flapjack, but they are our only gauge for IFS related activity. Did Vegas kill it for some?  Was it the influx of out-of-town meetings around that time? Rousing has mentioned to me that meetings after Philly will most likely be a once a season thing, every 3 months.  The Minister of Finance and Minister of Auditory Pleasures will be in SF, and the Minister of Revelry + Spirits leaves tomorrow for Germany I believe.  Will anyone else be outside of the OC up to SB area? Should we start planning now for the next meeting?  Will I have to wait till Dec. to live and die? And goddamit Fidel I want that anthem for the site - I am calling you tonight for it.

This Post is to inform you all of two things...

1.)  that i officially am part of "The Exodus," &

2.) that this video is "the jacks, yo."

How'd they do that?  Remember the time that the Minister of Auditory Pleasures made that sweet anthem with animation, and won the MOM award with the MOL, but then it never saw the light of day again?  I wonder what happened to that guy?  In other news, the Minister of Finance was reportedly robbed in Brazil, but was not hurt in the process.  I wonder if they have computadoras in Brazil?  Oh well no time to wonder, back to work I go.

Though snakes on a plane is only a few days away, i felt it couldn't hurt to contribute a little bit more to everyone's already mounting cases of Reptillia.

Chuck_norris_action_jeans Walker could totally kick the Rock's ass, even without Bobby Sixkiller's help.  It would be like Chong Li stomping Ray Jackson, with Frank Dux sitting in the stands screaming out like a little girl, Sixkiller where Norris is Chong Li, the Rock is Ray Jackson, and Frank Dux is just Jean Claude Van Damme (and that's all anyone can hope to be).  Seriously Walker is too quick for the Rock, it takes years of specialized training to be a Texas Ranger.  What has the Rock done besides play for the Hurricanes and kill aliens on a futuristic Mars?  Stay tuned, for tomorrow Van Damme will seek revenge on Norris in a cage match to the death, only one will live to give a 'thumbs up' to the camera.

206835542_cda2eb7239 If anyone has forogotten what they've done in the last six months, the Minister of Athletics has posted some photos on Flickr from Vegas and meeting.

Willferrell Last night while licking suckling pig off of my finger tips and downing an Adolphus breezy, my enjoyment was thrown into a doggy bag, when word of the new Will Farrell movie was not as expected.  When the Minister of Letters tells you that a movie is just good, that is a bad sign (he said Spider-Man 2 was amazing and we all know that was an exaggeration).  While Talledega Nights doesn't have the all-star producing team that made Saw and Hostel, I've heard Anchorman was pretty funny.

Still, I cannot escape a poor review from one of my brothers, I can only hope that he was attempting to make the movie better for everyone else by not building high expectations.  Or maybe he needs to leave the movie critiquing to old Gus Chiggins and get a spot in line for Employee of the Month.

I will be rewatching all of Will Ferrell's best SNL skits today, hoping that Talladega Nights is made of bbq spare ribs so that I can polish it off with a tall, cool Adolphus tonight.
