Turtle Power

Wildlife update from Franklin Street.

The 2 red-eared slider turtles known as Arnold and Louie, who began their young lives in an over-sized bucket/fountain at Seaview toured every corner of Santa Barbara from Isla Vista, Midtown, The Bath House and Mesa Lane, now find themselves in the middle of the jungle, the Concrete Jungle.  The turtles have survived many trials and tribulations, from close encounters with Beta fish in small fish bowls to brutal ice cold temperatures of cruel Santa Monica winter nights.  But the turtles have found greener pastures.  Two generous humanitarians Mr. Andrew Fricker and Matt Fleming have adopted our reptile friends, and even though the other kids make fun of the turtles for having two daddies, life is good.P1030826

Their new 40 gallon tank is equipped with an island, a basking lamp, shells, gravel, nearby plant and surfing monkey coin bank, daytime sunlight, a new filter, and 12 goldfish.  Life is good for two reptiles that have been around as long as we've been eating flapjacks and drinking adolphus.  As we've grown up a little, so too have the turtles and assuming they get the care they need, these turtles will witness the next 3 years of IFS from their comfy new tank So... We salute you Turtles, your longevity and resilience needs to be a model for our organization.

Wow Dad, those turtles are BIG!

With Flemming's graveyard Mining schedule, Arnold and Louie will always have a daddy at home. Great work housemates!

I don't know, that water looks awful murky in those bottom 4 pictures. We never let the tank get that dirty! I hope that is just glare from the glass or the camera. I might have to report you to Amanda's crazy, animal loving, creepy hebrew hating friend, Coralie.

How dare you sir! Those turtles would've been dead had they stayed another week on Mesa Lane. As I recall throwing the reptiles into the garbage was an option which was actively discussed by Count Casanova and his band of evildoers until the "Santa Monica Kind Hearts" saved the poor neglected pets from your evil clutches.

It's the lighting, evening photo shoot. Those turtles are dirty little bastards, we got that filter working overtime.

Jolly good. We have a used sucker fish (that's if he's still alive in our fountain, may have died of a heart attack from work related stress) if you want it, you little humanitarian you.

Oh, and I fucking hate Coralie.

Yeah Defense. Digital Motivation.
