After a little discussion with Co-Host (Competition) of Chico “The River Wild” and I decided we needed to crunch the numbers and poll all
ministers. Our transportation options
are the following: Conversion Van (15 passengers) vs. Winnebago (awesome). There is a bit of a price difference, but
there is also a fun difference. Things to consider:
1. Price- The Van
will run around $45 per minister vs. Winnebago $85 per minister (gas included,
figured for 15 ministers). These numbers
are ballpark figures and I hope the amount will be less. However we will travel nearly 900 miles total
and gas is expensive.
2. Fun- In a Winnebago, we will be legally allowed to
drink in the back and there will be a TV, sink, bathroom, etc. It will be about 16 hours of total driving
and a good portion of our trip will be in transit. The Winnebago will also allow for ministers
to crash out in style if there’s a lack of bed space in the Hotel.
3. Comfort- Multiple beds, chairs and a urinal on board
our craft will make for a more comfortable trip.
In the opinion of Competition and myself, a Winnebago will
be more comfortable and more fun. It
will allow for a bit of mobility during the drive and will allow many ministers
to drink (legally) while on the road. It
will be a little more expensive but well worth the expense. Please let us know
your opinion and if you plan on coming. I know I can count on most ministers, but I would like confirmation on
the rest. The price will change
depending on how many people are on board.
My vote is on the Winnebego, fuck the cost it's way sweeter.
I vote Winnebago if it allows us to drink legally on the drive, and has a built-in bathroom.
i vote for the winne too.
Don't forget about option number 3:
Boeing Business Jet
Large Private Jet
Hourly Rate: $9500/hr
Range: 6500 nm
Seats: 16-56
first of all Congrats Towers!! Then I just want to put a vote in for the Winne, might as well spend a few extra dollars for the comfort and legal drinking
I like the Winne, but who drinks while on the road anymore? childish.
The Winnebago would be strong. I think one must be 25 years old to rent such a thing. Do we have a total cost estimate for Winnebago, hotel, dinner, etc...?
winne, cause they used one in space balls.
you may be right about the 25 thing, we've only looked into price, and i didn't see any stipulations about age, but i'm sure it might be an issue. It might be a credit issue also or some sort of extra fee. As for a total estimate, assume more than 200 total, less than 400, depending on spending habits. It won't be free, but it's no Vegas either.
Winnebago.
Spaceballs: OOOOOVER RAAAAAATED!!!
Just investigated the Winnebago thing further and I think the 25 year old thing is an issue for sure. Is any IFS member 25 years old?
Diego Jam?
He's at least 35, maybe even 61.
Oh yeah, no shit. Diego is as old as time. Can we pose this to him? Is he even coming? Do you guys ever see him? Schnitzel where are you!?
Oh wait, he isn't exactly "On the Books", if you know what I mean.
He's on the books in Oregon.
Count me in for the river wild. Winnebago sounds good. Just a warning though, I'm somewhere between a class V (expert) and a class VI (extreme) whitewater rafter. Hope that's okay.
